Wonderful sun-drenched home…furnished with love. From Eames chair to Platner coffee table. Bright and cheery.
Landmarked mid-century modern, built 1963. I believe these are the only case study homes in Palm Springs. Anyone who appreciates mid-century modern aesthetic will love this rare gem. It has a purity and elegance of design akin to Frey, Neutra and Le Corbusier.
For me, it’s like owning a Picasso.
We have preserved the original design and style, right down to the kidney shaped swimming pool.

PETS: There is a cleaning fee of $125 for pets.
Rent bikes in town and ride to the house in 20 minutes. Be sure to go hiking, I LOVE the Coachella Valley Preserve for hiking.
REVIEW FROM BRIAN 3/4/16: Fantastic place, historical architecture and faultless service, hope one day the have the opportunity to stay at Doug’s house again. If you have any interest in mid-century architecture and style this is the place to stay!
The realitor told me that this was owned by Kathryn Hepburn who never lived there, but bought it for her lover, Spencer Tracy!

An extra fee of $69 for summer (June–Sept) and $99 for winter (October–May) would apply for pool heat. You can get in touch for this service once you’ve booked. Spa is free of charge. Please let us know if you would like to add Pool heat to your reservation.
Rental Policies
Full refund for cancellation up to 30 days before check in.
If booked fewer than 30 days before check in, full refund for cancellations made within 48 hours of booking and at least 14 days before check in.
After that, 50% refund up to 7 days before check in. No refund after that.

*No smoking inside of house
*If pets allowed on property, only 2 dogs max under 50 lbs each
Palm Springs Vacation Rental Ordinance requires
- Minimum age of primary guest 25 years
- Copy of Photo ID must be provided to proof min age

It is a Palm Springs gem and a rare find, indeed. Doug’s Place is an authentic mid-century house without tacky renovations over the years and typical garish embellishments of the era. Everything is tastefully period correct from the furniture, decor, and artwork to the landscaping. This was our second visit, and it’ll be hard to stay anywhere else in our future visits to Palm Springs. We will be back if we are welcome.
